The Irish Ethical Celebrants Society are a self governing, inclusive and caring community providing a home to those who seek an ethical, compassionate philosophy of life irrespective of belief systems. They're a group of ethical celebrants who carry out celebrations such as Weddings, Vow Renewals, Funerals, Ethical Milestone Celebrations and more.
The project brief was to redesign the old and outdated website as well as adding an online platform system where members could log into their own account and share their information with the public.
Niamh was the staff member chosen for the project and the platform chosen was WordPress. WordPress was chosen as the client's old website was also on WordPress and the online member plugin was something we were to use on WordPress. Working closely alongside the client, the website now offers a member directory area which showcases each member and their information; allowing users to filter between different counties and service areas. New users can now create an account and must wait for Admin Approval before getting their own profile and adding information to it.
The website was launched in November 2022 and the client is now on a maintenance contract with Opus. This allows for weekly website updates and continued support from the Opus team on any website enquiries or issues. We visit the back end of the website every week to approve/decline members and control the admin area of the site. Automated emails are also set up to go to the member when they have made an account.
